We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Registration No. 1097671
We have a community bank account with NatWest to manage all of our own income and expenses. We meet quarterly as Trustees and one of the standing agenda items is a report on our financial position.
Our accounts are inspected by an independent examiner and submitted in accordance with Charity Commission requirements.
We are able to receive income from sales of products and donations to fund the purchase of seed stock, pots and compost, sales stickers, maintenance work as well as tools and equipment.
We provide a safe work environment and garden growing areas where the people we support can learn, grow
and flourish
All donations go 100% to
support our charitable work -
we have no staff costs as
we are all volunteers
Different sources of funding always needed to support our work
Like most charities we have to generate income from many sources to help us to continue to support those that need us most.
Growing & selling plants
All our plants are grown in our market garden at Turgis Court Farm on the Duke of Wellington Estate, Stratfield Saye and sold at the Acorn Community Centre in Woosehill, Wokingham.
All of the income generated from plant sales is used to buy more seeds, plug plants and compost as well as more gardening tools and equipment for our clients to use.
Contributions to specific projects
We offer opportunities to contribute to a specific project that will be linked to an improvement in quality of experience for our clients.
Examples might include a new lawn mower, shed or wood chipper.
Private donations
We receive private donations and offers of spare, new or very good condition gardening equipment, hand tools, spades, forks and power tools.
Any donation of equipment has to be of a very good quality in order to protect our clients when using them.
